It's an exciting time to join Marketplace. We are an industry leader in telling meaningful and creative stories on the radio with close to 13 million listeners, and we're evolving into a multi-media enterprise centered around the ambition of raising the economic intelligence of all Americans. Marketplace is an ambitious shop, fueled by ambitious ideas. This is a place of creativity and unorthodox thinking. We don't take ourselves too seriously, even though we understand the critical importance of people understanding how the economy shapes the world around us.
We’re looking for an assistant producer with at least one year of journalism experience, including audio production, research, and booking expertise. Each of our production teams is small, so you will take an active role in every part of the process, including pitching stories and themes, booking, editing audio, and creating meaningful stories that resonate with our audience. This position will at times embed or work closely with our social and other digital teams to help iterate on digital extensions of our shows, including conceptualizing and creating assets.
You should be well organized and detail-oriented and able to thrive working in a small, collaborative, supportive team environment, sometimes on multiple projects. You’re able to find the money angle in any story and passionate about sharing those stories with audiences.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement between Marketplace and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
