Intern, Marketplace Morning Report:
Economic Pulse gives the audience insight into the ways that the economy affects all Americans by highlighting a range of experiences. From the fast-food worker experiencing homelessness to the trucker turned serial entrepreneur, you’ll hear these narratives and more on this Marketplace Morning Report (MMR) segment.
The Economic Pulse Intern will pore through the MMR archives to create a trackable database of past contributors. The intern will assist the MMR production staff in locating, booking, and interviewing a diverse group of guests that illustrate how the economy is (or is not) working from where they’re situated.
The role is part of an effort to improve internal record keeping systems in preparation for migration to the Pyramid system. That system will store metadata useful for placing content across platforms and critical to delivering accurate results in online searches. It will also include contact and demographic information useful for internal monitoring.

Responsibilities:
In this hands-on role, you will support the MMR team with the following:
Develop and maintain a database to track contributors by analyzing Marketplace Morning Report archives.
Work with the team to boost efficiency, maximize deliverables and improve workflow.
Ensure that all aspects of the project are organized according to timelines and deliverables stipulated.
Report project risks and outcomes to appropriate management channels, escalate issues according to project work plan.
Serve as a point of communication between internal team and external sources.

Required Qualifications:
Enrolled Senior in an undergraduate or Master’s program OR have earned a degree within the last 12 months
A demonstrated interest in journalism (i.e., produced work for publication, worked at school newspaper/radio, etc.).
Must have the ability to write clearly and accurately under strict deadlines and work independently.
Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be available to come into the New York office at least twice a week during this internship.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, roughly 9:00 – 5:00pm) for the duration of this internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or experience in radio journalism.
Audio and video editing skills.
