Content Production Manager

The Content Production Manager will act as the primary liaison between the content division and the non-subscriber revenue strategy. They will be responsible for identifying and working with the content division to acquire engaging content tailored to non-subscribers. The role focuses on developing content that drives engagement.

In addition, the Content Production Manager will research content produced by our journalists and identify opportunities to refresh and repackage it for multiple non-subscriber platforms and products. This role requires a desire to experiment, iterate and quickly adjust as the environment dictates. Collaboration is key.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is between 90k and 110k annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leverage and package high-quality content that resonates with non-subscriber audiences.
Ensure SEO optimization and alignment with audience growth strategies.
Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and develop content that supports paid media and organic growth efforts for non-subs.
Incorporate native advertising, affiliate marketing and other monetization models into content.
Identify relevant content to be distributed to non-subs in a timely manner and optimize this distribution.
Research and recommend new tools to help discover and repackage relevant content (editorial, syndicated, partner) for multiple products.
Coordinate with content teams and follow all editorial ethical and style guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience in content creation and editing, with a focus on digital platforms.
Strong understanding of SEO and social media best practices and content monetization strategies including audience-focused tactics.
Proven ability to produce engaging, high-performing content.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.
Familiarity with a variety of storytelling approaches, including social, alt-form writing, video and audio.
Dedication to experimentation informed by analytics
Ability to lead with urgency and empathy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; preferably in marketing, or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
Minimum qualifications: Five years of experience in field or in comparable fields, Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred; computer skills.
