McClatchy is seeking an Audience Growth Producer, Local News, to diversify and grow readership for our journalism at our small and mid-size news sites. The successful candidate will engage with readers on social media, via newsletters and across our digital platforms. Audience Growth Producers are also experts in SEO and news alert strategy, and they are responsible for helping to determine the best ways to reach our readers and elevate our articles, videos and multimedia packages. Keen news judgment, strong communication and writing skills, and the ability to collaborate are musts. An enthusiasm for creative reader engagement as well as public service journalism is essential. This role will work within a team of audience growth producers who collaborate with McClatchy newsrooms such as The State in Columbia, S.C.; the Belleville News-Democrat in Illinois; the Lexington Herald-Leader; and the Idaho Statesman. This position can be a remote role.
