Title
Media Relations/ Public Relations Professional
Details
This is it. The job listing that’ll make you stop scrolling and eagerly hit “apply.” We’re Airfoil Group, a leading marketing communications firm, and we’re not looking for a guru or a wizard or any of those trendy titles. We’re looking for an experienced media relations professional to help our clients launch, influence, inform and connect through insightful and creative storytelling. This is a specialized media relations role that will allow you to focus on doing what you do best (pitching media). We know just about every agency job listing you’ve just scanned says basically the same thing. And yes, here you’ll also build media lists, write press releases, pitch reporters, create reports, blah, blah, blah . . . But you’ll do so much more than that. Here’s a sample of what else the role entails and why you may be a perfect fit: Obviously, you’ll be responsible for crafting and delivering compelling stories and commentary to the media, so while it would be nice if you have established media contacts in technology, business, and automotive media, what’s more important is that you can recognize what makes a great pitch and will bring a fearlessness to building relationships with new media connections. You’ll be on the forefront of informing and developing media relations strategies, so we need a critical thinker who approaches challenges with curiosity and creativity. You’ll be working directly with clients and spokespeople, so we need a charismatic, professional who thinks quickly on their feet and projects a friendly confidence. You’ll own some projects while also supporting others, so we need someone who can manage time effectively, collaborate and contribute, meet deadlines, deliver high-quality work, and generally be accountable and responsible. You’ll grow, learn and evolve here at Airfoil. We’re looking for someone who will invest in Airfoil’s success, just as we will invest in you for the long-term. To do that, we’re looking for someone who can effectively give and take feedback, who proactively seeks out coaching and professional development, and takes the initiative to offer and implement new ideas that will make us all stronger. So, why would you want to work for Airfoil Group? Here are our top five reasons, in no particular order, that we’ve debated on internally for weeks We listen. You’ll be working with a leadership team that is always open and adaptive to new ideas and new thinking. Your voice WILL be heard. From the top on down, every voice matters at Airfoil Group. If you’ve been in the industry for 20 years or 20 minutes – everyone will openly listen. Depending on how long you’ve been in the industry, you know how refreshing that can be.
