Website Producer and Editor

Wanted: A journalist with web editing, production and engagement skills to help make sure our news reaches and satisfies our audiences in the St. Paul-Minneapolis metro area and beyond. Optimize articles, curate our home page and other offerings, draw lessons we can act on from metrics and analytics, help shape our news and engagement strategies and tools, work with a variety of journalists on a variety of subjects, conceive and present news yourself, explore new skills and experiment with new products that can offer distinct value to our audience.
Responsibilities:
– Edit and produce news reports to optimize reach and appeal
– Help curate our home page and other offerings
– Work various social media tools to distribute our news and amplify our work
– Collaborate with other members of the digital team, with assignment editors and reporters to optimize our offerings
– Work a regular schedule, generally, but also expect some variation depending on breaking news and other schedules
– Stay abreast of the trends and tools that drive audience engagement and conversion to paying subscribers, and use them
