The Executive Director of YourClassical provides leadership, strategy and operations to deliver on YourClassical’s multichannel vision, aligned to the APMG enterprise strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to transform our audio-based services to multichannel content services, in order to meet our growing younger and more diverse consumers’ needs. We are seeking a leader to set the multichannel vision for classical music services for APMG, create a growth culture to expand revenue and multichannel consumers, as we create the future of public media, aligned to our values. Our leader will build internal and external partnerships that align with our mission and vision, at an exciting time in the history of our organization. This leader is responsible for achieving YourClassical’s financial and non-financial goals and ensuring the long-term relevancy and financial viability of the YourClassical brand, working closely with our APMG brand leaders to accomplish brand loyalty and enterprise growth.
The Executive Director leads and lives the culture that reflects our values, encourages excellence, and rewards productivity and creativity. Creation of shared goals and ongoing collaboration with internal centers of excellence (enterprise shared services) is critical for YourClassical leadership to achieve long-term success. Specifically, our YourClassical leader will work closely with our centers of excellence - marketing, philanthropic development, technology, and administrative teams to develop shared success. The desire and commitment to develop strong relationships across the organization and to work collaboratively to serve audiences is a requirement for this position. People skills, creativity, the ability to advance strategy-to-execution, and the willingness to take calculated risks, and data-informed decision-making are important attributes for this leader.

The Executive Director serves as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for YourClassical to audiences, donors, partners, and all other constituents. We are seeking a leader who is passionate about classical music; someone who can speak and activate authentically about advancing the love of classical music to current and future generations, and someone who enjoys asking our partners and donors for help as we advance our growth ambitions.
The Executive Director reports to the SVP, Chief Transformation Officer.
Expected Compensation Range: $160,000 - $200,000/yr. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibilities:
Leads multichannel vision, strategy and operational planning for the user experience, establishing systems, goals, and priorities for YourClassical.
Develops, hires and retains multichannel talent to advance the vision, aligned to our mission and vision. Hires, supervises, trains and manages direct staff through coaching, mentorship, performance meetings and on-going feedback, working with HR and management colleagues.
Oversees the development, production and distribution of YourClassical existing and new content in all distribution channels.
Identifies, evaluates and pursues programming and distribution ventures which are consistent with building connection and understanding.
Negotiates strategic alliances, partnerships and contracts for programming and distribution, ensuring new ventures are aligned with strategic direction.
Ensures optimal organizational efficiency and communication flow.
Manages the financial performance, budgets and enterprise Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of all YourClassical activities.
Coordinates development of operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar.
Monitors monthly and other financial statements for the YourClassical brand; manages revenue and expenses relative to goals; takes corrective action as necessary.
Stays abreast of current trends related to the organization’s products and services and anticipates future trends likely to have an impact.
Implements general policies established by the Executive Team and Board of Directors; directs their administration and execution.
Other duties as appropriate, which the supervisor may authorize or direct.
Required Education and Experience:
Passion for classical music in multiple channels (audio, video, written, social, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in media, business or other related field required
Minimum 10+ years professional experience in management, strategic planning and P/L experience, including track record of meeting financial goals and key business objectives
Minimum 10+ years of people management experience.
Minimum 10+ years in multichannel, direct-to-consumer business
Experience in fundraising
