Shop TODAY, the commerce arm of TODAY, is looking for an experienced Social Media Editor to help manage a portfolio of social platforms. This person will be responsible for leveraging data and analytics to support the senior social media editor in strategy development and execution, including video. This person will be responsible for managing the day-to-day workflow, which includes a high volume of copy editing for all creative social content, including video, to support audience growth and KPIs. They will work closely with the Shop TODAY editorial team to provide feedback on best social practices, packaging optimizations and amplification guidance for their content. The ideal candidate must be an experienced social storyteller, have a passion for service journalism and a creative wordsmith. This person must be detail-oriented and excel at working with teams across editorial, art, production, audience development, business development, legal and standards to ensure we’re following all guidance provided. We’re looking for a leader with strong news judgment who understands social best practices and feels comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced media environment. Most importantly, they should have a good grasp on trends in the social sphere, how content performs on various platforms and the tactics used to grow commerce editorial in a competitive space.
