New Scientist is looking for a creative Assistant Picture Editor to help manage its picture desk in London. Reporting to the Picture Editor, they will have a flair for design and have bags of ideas about how to make our online content sing. They will also assist in sourcing appropriate and engaging imagery for the award-winning print magazine. Their key tasks will be sourcing images for news stories, working in collaboration with the editorial team. They will upload, edit, and crop images, and will manage images on our CMS, where they will be responsible for providing accurate captions and credit information. The successful candidate will be highly organised with meticulous attention to detail in relation to images. The assistant picture editor will also work closely with the audience team and help grow this relationship and will be responsible for sourcing engaging imagery for social media and other digital platforms.
