What’s the role?
As our Food Editor, you will have an in-depth knowledge of food trends, an educated palate and excellent cooking skills. You are responsible for developing, testing and writing recipes true to the delicious. brand values and style, with an understanding of our audience and readership. You will understand contributor relationships, and work with the Food Director to create premium, reliable and beautiful recipes for the magazine and delicious.com.au
You will have extensive experience in cooking within a commercial or food media environment. You will have an eye for envisioning how the recipes, images and text will live on the page and you will work with the food team on issue themes. You will create short videos for social media. You will work in conjunction with the delicious brand extensions where required.
You will be expected to manage the workflow of the test kitchen and deputise for the Food Director as required, stepping up to tasks assigned to you on the Food Director’s behalf.
Based between our Surry Hills office and Alexandria test kitchen and reporting to the Food Director, the role requires an organised team player who shows initiative, can juggle several tasks at once and can adapt easily to the distinct style of Australia's favourite premium food brand.

Who are you?
Commercial Cookery Certificate 3
A minimum of 6 years commercial cookery or publishing experience
An exceptional level of technical food knowledge
Good recipe writing skills
Excellent communication skills and be a team player
Great organisational skills and flexibility
Attention to detail
A creative flair and ability to conceptualise on the go
An ability to adapt to a specific audience
A passion for staying ahead of the trends
A driver’s licence and a car
