What’s the role?

We are looking for a Senior Reporter to join Australia's largest media organisation. to cover all general/breaking news out of Perth. Work for NewsCorp's breaking newswire service providing valuable content for all mastheads, news.com.au and the Australia as well as external clients.

Key Responsibilities

Attend press conferences/cover state politics

Cover court/run court diary

Pitch and generate original news stories and ideas

Break news stories - with an emphasis on WA stories

Report on news stories live on location, including responding to breaking news events outside of rostered hours, when required.

Film news content and press conferences as a video journalist when required

Who are you?

Experienced journalist with at least 4 years of journalism experience

Experience in generating and breaking unique news stories

Proven network of contact to assist breaking news

Experience in live and breaking news

Excellent time management skills, the ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines.

Strong communication skills.

High attention to detail and strong technical understanding

Open to feedback

Flexibility around working day and hours
