Morning in America Futures & Planning Producer

NewsNation is looking for a new Futures and Planning Producer to help coordinate planning and logistics for the network’s four-hour morning show. The ideal candidate is someone who understands planning and logistics and is committed to collaborating with the show’s senior team, newsgathering partners, and field teams to ensure a quality daily broadcast. The Futures and Planning Producer also assists in managing show staffing to ensure that the editorial/producing needs of the broadcast are met.

Responsibilities:

-Participate in all daily planning calls to set the agenda for the next day and into the future.

-Work with assignment desk on reporter / field producer availability and assignments as well as managing resources and coordinating w/ crews on the road.

- Highly organized and able to juggle multiple assignments simultaneously.

- Coordinate with editing team and show producers to prioritize assignments and to go over all resources to cover workload

- Participate in multiple staff meetings with assignment desk and bureau chiefs in planning and story development.

- Pitch stories to team

-Post 5pm reporter note, send quip out to NN team

- Coordinate staff schedules, PTO, Holiday schedules, sick time along w/ Senior Executive Producer

-HFR planning (series, graphic package requests, coordinate shoots, work with producers, photogs, desk, reporters, etc.)

-Put together weekly staffing note for week ahead

-Weekly crew meeting with CORE desk planning

-Lead weekly futures meeting and then launch stories

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

-Three or more years of daily news experience

- Knowledge NewsNation systems such as Daybook, ENPS, BitCentral, Microsoft Teams

-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Office)

- Commitment to being a self-starter who proactively seeks out tasks and opportunities for growth

-Excellent knowledge of current events and politics

-Must have the ability to work under deadline pressure

-Must have the ability to handle multiple projects or assignments with attention to detail

- Must thrive in a collaborative work environment
