As we embark on this exciting journey, we’re looking for a passionate Managing Editor to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of news.

Job description:

We are seeking a creative and dynamic Managing Editor who is ready to dive into the startup world and help build something groundbreaking. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a company at its inception and to make a significant impact in the media landscape.

Compensation:

Currently, this position is equity-based. The right candidate will receive equity compensation with the promise of a future salary, contingent upon our upcoming funding round.
Flexible part-time hours, with the opportunity to transition to full-time as the company grows.

Responsibilities:

Oversee Newsreel's content operations
Facilitate Experimentation: Encourage and facilitate editorial experiments to test hypotheses about user engagement and content effectiveness, using data-driven insights to guide decisions
Develop editorial guidelines
Team management and mentorship
Collaborate with tech team to help build Newsreel's app

Requirements:

Proven experience in journalism
Strong editorial judgment and an eye for compelling storytelling
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
