Recent college graduates with newsroom (especially broadcast newsroom) experience, as well as individuals with content licensing or clearance experience, are highly encouraged to apply.
This position will be based at a Nexstar station or corporate office location, preferably on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
As a Digital Producer for the Licensing & Syndication team, you will:
Vet video usage requests from syndication partners, ensuring adherence to rights and restrictions.
Assess and respond to YouTube claims and references across 100+ channels.
Handle tickets from internal Standards teams for content removal and corrections.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding news station video licensing.
Qualify external footage licensing requests for Nexstar news stations.
Serve as a liaison between news content licensing customers and stations, facilitating efficient request fulfillment.
Maintain positive relationships with customers, news station leaders, and staff.
Collaborate with the legal team on licensing agreements.
Identify news b-roll footage with potential for licensing on third-party platforms.
Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for candidates with:
Proficiency in video editing software, preferably Premiere Pro, and standard office software.
At least 2 years of newsroom work experience; college experience may be considered.
Familiarity with YouTube channel ownership and clearing channel claims and references.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with varying deadlines.
Quick learner with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a larger team.
Comfortable communicating with individuals of various levels, across different cities.
Proven ability to build positive relationships, earn respect, and support collaboration.
Previous production company clearances or content licensing experience is a plus.
