Nexstar Media Group’s WAVY-TV – is looking for a Lifestyle Show Producer for its hour-long, award-winning weekday lifestyle show – The Hampton Roads Show (HRS). You’ll be working with the Executive Producer overseeing content segments and daily operations of producing the show. You’ll also work closely with the show hosts, as well as other staff to continue the ongoing work of creating the most entertaining and locally driven show in the market. HRS offers segments and profiles of living in the Hampton Roads area of Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina while featuring local businesses and national content.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, writing, producing, booth producing as well as finding content and delivering on client segment needs for the daily show. This is an awesome opportunity for a Producer who’s not afraid to take some risks, is interested in finding new ways to tell compelling stories. The successful candidate knows how to work well with others while working to create an atmosphere of fun, in-studio, and on-location. Should be comfortable in a business setting professionally interacting with clients, guests, and co-workers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Produce daily, hour-long lifestyle show and post-show production (prep and booth).
Writes and approves scripts.
Works with Executive Producer to deliver on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales-related segments and programs.
Schedules show content well in advance; works on multiple rundowns simultaneously.
Works with hosts on the backend of packages/on-location segments to prep for air.
Works with / assigns show editors all editing needs for daily shows.
Coordinates content for some regular franchise segments.
Balances/books content to create compelling shows (knows the audience).
Interacts with viewers and users on social media. May lead to regular social media on-camera feature for the right candidate (not required).
Collaborates with Creative Services/Graphics Department on developing graphic support needs to enhance the show and compliment the overall look of the show brand.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

Strong and Creative Writing skills.
Software: ENPS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere and Photoshop, Bit Central.
Deadline driven and work well under pressure.
Creative thinker who isn’t afraid to try new ideas.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Minimum four years producing a live, daily show; prefer two of the four years producing a live show to be lifestyle show producing.
Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Fast paced environment with deadlines. Position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority. May be required to work occasional weekends (Saturdays/Sundays). A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

The employee in this position must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Repetitive movements are required.
