The Site Producer role is responsible for crafting news stories for fox21news.com (everything from local stories to breaking news and enterprise reports), in addition to packaging broadcast content for a digital audience and editing broadcast articles for the web. The Site Producer will also find and upload video content from broadcast and other online entities and add those videos to articles. This role will contribute to building a loyal audience by being responsive to traffic patterns and audience interest while serving as a steward of our brands.

Publish several digital stories per shift (daily news, breaking news and enterprise pieces).
Edit reporter content and package it for web.
Promote and distribute news content on social media.
Strong AP-style writing, copyediting, grammar and story organization skills.
Strict journalistic standards, including vetting, pitching and ethical treatment of the stories we cover.
Contribute to long-term and special digital projects.
Build a positive working relationship with digital executive producer, digital team and newsroom staff.
Clip videos and add to high-performing articles.
Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously as needed.
Ability to responsibly and respectfully interact online and over the phone with community members.
Other duties as assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with focus on digital content.
Organized, technical problem solver and quick decision maker.
Engaging headline writer.
Strong multi-tasking abilities.
Strong news judgement.
Schedule flexibility (nights, weekends).
Capable of researching, interviewing and writing original news articles.
Knowledge of AP Stylebook.
Enjoys working in teams and has excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong communicator.
Proficiency in WordPress.
A desire to learn and grow.

Typical day

The Site Producer will attend local editorial meetings as needed/assigned and write articles bases on daily needs, breaking news or enterprise stories. The Site Producer will also be responsible for packaging broadcast content for web, as well as editing reporter articles for online publishing. Producer will need to improve headlines and thumbnail images, as well as adding tags for SEO, in addition to uploading video content from broadcast or other online entities.

COMPENSATION RANGE:
Annual Salary: $18.87 - and up, commensurate with experience
