Staff Editor
The Nike Organic Growth Content team is looking for a full-time Staff Editor who is plugged into the latest style and fitness trends, and comfortable spearheading SEO content at scale. We're looking for someone who knows how to properly secure sources for a story, understands the importance of good article structure, and who's able to distill information to a mass audience. The most successful candidates will offer strong communication skills with robust editorial experience! The ideal candidate has at least six years experience writing and/or editing in the fitness or style space, ideally for a national publication or comparable platform/brand.
What You Will Work On
The job will include a lot of ideating, editing, and working with cross-functional partners, and navigating Nike's highly matrixed org.
Assign and edit 4-6 style/product and/or activity articles that are optimized for search per week
Publish aprox. 15-20 articles per month
Conduct original interviews with approved internal spokespeople and external authorities
Source new writers and experts while also adhering to our roster of guides and resources
Partner with cross-functional team members on asset production, SEO research/topic selection, legal approval, and publishing/ops partners
What You Bring
6+ years relevant writing and editing experience, preferably at a national publication
Experience with Google Trends/News, evergreen SEO, and simple news writing
Incredible writing, pitching, and brainstorming skills
A consistent track record of creating trustworthy content that drives traffic and engagement
A strategic problem solver who considers traffic when making an editorial decision
An idea generator who can think of new, fresh ways to package content
