Job Description
nine.com.au is seeking a digital producer to help drive the output on one of Australia’s biggest news sites and produce high-quality content.
Day to day, you will report into the nine.com.au editor, and be responsible for the following accountabilities:
Cover breaking news and developing stories.
Pitch your own content ideas in daily news conference.
Work with the SEO and social media teams to develop story opportunities.
Liaise and maintain relationships with digital chief-of-staff, video producers, multimedia producers and social media producers.
Be across analytics and SEO to identify story opportunities
Create engaging and informing story block images to showcase your content on the homepage.
Help plan content for major events and local news coverage.
This is a full-time five-day hybrid role, which may include weekend and evening work. Ideally this role would be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Qualifications
What we would like to see on your resume:
A news journalist with demonstrated experience looking to take the next step in their career.
Energetic and engaged & thrives in a breaking newsroom environment working under deadlines.
Ability to source original news and feature stories.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Canva preferable.
An excellent understanding of legal best practice, including defamation laws, essential.
Understanding of Adobe analytics and SEO best practice advantageous.
