What we are looking for:
Are you a health/science journalist with a passion for mental health? Have you worked as a freelance or staff writer for health or science publications? Do you have the bandwidth to contribute a minimum of four articles per month (roughly one per week) that are approximately 2000 words in length?
Responsibilities:
Write high-quality, well-researched, and SEO-optimized content that captures high-volume, high-intent web traffic
Interview clinical experts and ensure that content is authoritative and approachable, with an emphasis on helping people regain their life from OCD
Maintain a high bar for editorial standards
Use your skills as a writer to turn mental health jargon into digestible and engaging narratives
Uphold excellent copyediting skills with strong attention to details like spelling, grammar, and clarity
Meet deadlines and adhere to our writing guidelines
Qualifications:
US based applicants
BS/BA in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field
Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
5+ years of experience in digital or print as a long-form health or science journalist
Familiarity with SEO tools / writing content that is optimized for search
Bonus point for any special interest in issues surrounding mental health
