WUNC’s Capitol Bureau Chief is one of the most important and high-profile reporting positions in the state of North Carolina. The CBC covers all aspects of politics and government, with an eye toward enterprise, compelling, meaningful coverage of how politics and government in North Carolina impacts residents. The CBC has significant input into how that mandate is met. Previous individuals in this position have hosted the very popular and long-running WUNC Politics Podcast; interviewed governors, presidential candidates, U.S. Senators, and other leaders; published sound-and-data-rich stories on campaign spending, gerrymandering, and voter integrity; hosted conversations at WUNC-sponsored events; and embarked on a wide variety of other journalistic efforts.
