Job Description

The candidate writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.

Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.

Conducts quality review of materials.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience OR 9 years experience

Must have an interim Secret Clearance to start

Use of Microsoft office tool set (Outlook, word, excel, ppt) 8 years

Preferred Qualifications

NATO or USAF experience maintaining Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV), use of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) maintenance manuals, participated in customer validation and verification of maintenance procedures events, and familiar with airworthiness certification requirements. General understanding of S1000D, XML authoring, common source database usage, and technical publications development processes. Ability to liaison between company engineers, airworthiness authority, and end-users.

Salary Range: $69,600 - $121,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
