The New York Post is seeking a plugged in Albany Reporter (M-F, 9-5pm) to cover the ins and outs of New York state politics.

Note: This individual will need to reside near Albany, NY.

Responsibilities include:

Writing well-sourced stories that explains complex legislative issues into reader-friendly content for everyday New Yorkers
Strong understanding how Albany's Executive Mansion/NYS Legislature works and how it impacts NYC and national politics
Collaborating with colleagues to report in-depth news stories
Filing fast digital copy in breaking news situations
Adhering to The Post’s signature style

The ideal candidate will have:

Approximately 5 years of experience covering New York politics
Experience working in a fast paced news environment, juggling multiple stories at once
Strong organizational and time management skills
Exceptional news gathering skills and experience with social media platforms in order to quickly confirm information during live news events

Salary Range: $31,200 - $125,000
