The New York Post is seeking a tough, experienced and sharp-eyed journalist with exceptional news judgment to join the team as the New York Politics Editor. This individual will be responsible for vetting, assigning, and editing national, regional and local politics stories.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering fast-paced stories while adhering to the highest journalistic standards of sourcing and accuracy. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to thrive in a highly charged atmosphere while juggling multiple reporters and stories with in-the-moment deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

At least 5 years of experience in a major metropolitan or national newsroom
Experience leading a team of at least five reporters in a newsroom environment
Knowledge and understanding of political issues on a local level
Experience editing multiple stories a day and turning them around quickly for NYPost.com
A fiercely competitive spirit and the ability to deliver quality stories told in The Post’s unique voice
Strong news judgment
Understanding of SEO, social media and video best practices and how to utilize those resources to optimize content and reach a wide audience a plus

Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work schedule.

Salary Range: $75,000– $170,000
