The New York Post is seeking a part-time Social Media Editor (Mon & Fri: 3pm-11pm) to join the Audience Development team.
Note: The schedule for this role is 3pm – 11pm on Monday and Friday.
Responsibilities:
Optimize original site content for social platforms and execute posting across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and more
Work with NYPost.com and PageSix.com social media team to identify daily tasks
Maintain proficiency and knowledge in latest social media technologies and best practices (i.e. new tools, algorithm changes, platform enhancements)
Create short-form vertical videos for platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and more
The ideal candidate will have/be:
1-3 years of experience managing social media accounts with a large audience; publisher experience preferred
Basic video editing skills
Strong news judgment and excellent writing and copy-editing skills
Knowledge of digital media trends and emerging platforms
Ability to multitask, balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Salary Range: $15/hour – $125,000
