As the Online Editor, you will have a hands-on role in shaping the direction and content of our websites. You will also contribute to more in-depth print titles and work with our clients to produce engaging content that both informs and entertains. This position requires excellent writing, subbing, and proofing skills. As an ambassador for our titles, you will closely collaborate with the publisher and sales team to drive commercial growth. Working alongside a supportive team, you will play a key role in developing the editorial strategy to further strengthen our titles' position in the marketplace. Additionally, there may be content generation responsibilities for other projects and events.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage the editorial content of our magazines. Work collaboratively with contributors and freelancers.
Represent the titles as a figurehead and ambassador, attending relevant functions and press events to enhance your profile and that of the publications. Some work outside normal office hours, interstate, and international travel may be required.
Source material for news and features and provide support to the sales team as needed. Develop relevant contacts and knowledge in the sectors served by the titles, establishing their reputation as authoritative, accurate, and up-to-date.
Contribute ideas alongside the publisher and sales team to drive commercial growth.
Respond to inquiries from readers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

A degree or relevant qualification in journalism, media, or publishing.
Proven experience in editing a publication with evidence of previous work. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
You must enjoy going to events and socialising - the industry is fun and there are amazing opportunities for the right candidate.
Understanding of writing for digital platforms.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Team player with the ability to work independently.
Knowledge of the liquor and hospitality sectors is advantageous.

Other Information:

This is a full-time work from home role with working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is given, and needed, for attending events and meeting publication deadlines. Weekly in person meetings.

Remuneration:

The role has a pay range of $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and location. In addition, expenses are covered for phone and internet, travel to and from events and reasonable allowances when traveling interstate and overseas.
