ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will contribute to content strategy and acquisitions across OUP’s law publishing by acquiring academic monographs, supporting the review and updating of books for legal professionals, and helping to build and maintain new online-only, short-form content. This work will be done in close conjunction with the Head of Acquisition and Acquisitions Editors in the law team, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, proactive content acquisition in line with market and customer needs.
This position will further the Press’s publishing and research services, enhance its professional and scholarly reputation, and support the Content Strategy and Acquisitions team’s goal of positioning the Press successfully to respond to market changes.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

Team work / collaboration is a key part of this role therefore our ideal person will be team player, proactive, and IT literate. If you also have knowledge of, or an interest in law and academic publishing, this is a bonus!
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong understanding of academic and scholarly publishing
Experience working with authors and editors
Knowledge of the law is desirable
Experience with the launch and development of digital products is desirable
Interest in building reporting/analysis skills and gaining proficiency in market research
Ability to work with peers and cross-functionally in a productive manner (including within the matrix management structure of the Press) towards a common purpose
Excellent written communication as well as strong interpersonal and verbal skills
