About the role.
This is very fast paced and varied role in a talented and dedicated team. No two days will be the same. You could be covering a royal visit one morning and a crown court trial in the afternoon.
You will be at the centre of the biggest UK news stories of the day, every day.
PA is a 24/7, 365 days a year news operation and you can expect your working day to encompass early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
What you can expect day-to-day.
All-round news reporter comfortable with court cases, inquests, your own exclusives and uplifting off-diary uplifting stories and much more.
Produce accurate, fast, impartial and clearly written copy in line with the PA news agency’s core standards
Take stills and shooting video where required
Use social media to source exclusive and breaking news stories
Work closely with PA customers, whether local or national
Who you are.
You’ll have a background in reporting at an agency or daily newspaper level, possess current knowledge of media law, a minimum of 100 wpm shorthand, excel under pressure, hold an NCTJ or equivalent qualification and demonstrate the ability to verify and source social media content.
