Part-Time Technical Writer

RFA Engineering is seeking a Part-Time Technical Writer to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in researching and transforming complex technical information into engaging, accurate, and informative articles for industry-specific magazines.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough research on technical subjects to develop a deep understanding of the topic.
Write clear, informative, and engaging articles for publication in technical and industry-specific magazines.
Collaborate with technical experts and stakeholders to gather insights and verify the accuracy of the information.
Simplify complex technical ideas into reader-friendly content that adheres to publication standards.
Ensure all articles meet the editorial guidelines of each magazine, including style, tone, and factual accuracy.
Manage multiple article assignments simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
Revise and edit drafts in response to feedback from editors, peers, and technical experts.
Stay updated with the latest developments in the field to ensure the relevancy and timeliness of the content.
Assist in the development of publication strategies to enhance readership and engagement.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, or a related technical field.
Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with a portfolio of published articles.
Strong ability to research and understand complex technical subjects.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to translate technical information into compelling stories for a non-specialist audience.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with word processing and publishing tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with working with design or test engineers.
Experience with bolted joints.

Education

Associates or better in Business Administration or related field
Associates or better in Engineering or related field
Bachelors of Science or better in Creative Writing or related field
Bachelors of Science or better in Journalism or related field
Bachelors of Science or better in English or related field
