Phoenix New Times is a journalistic icon in Arizona's capital city, with a long track record of bringing the heat on hard news, including the 2018 George Polk Award for immigration reporting. Now we're looking for a news editor to lead our small but scrappy staff and continue New Times' proud tradition of hard-hitting local coverage. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of professional editing experience and know how to support, motivate and manage creative personnel. They'll also possess flawless line- and copyediting skills, a taste for the adrenaline rush of daily digital journalism, an innate understanding of the importance of engaging readers across multiple platforms, and an appreciation for the unique role New Times plays in Phoenix's media ecosystem. This is a full-time management job with a salary of $70,000-$75,000, depending on qualifications.
