Pitches (Farming)

For July, Barn Raiser is looking for stories for a package on the 2023 Farm Bill. Pitches can be sent to editorial@barnraisingmedia.com. Rates are $500 for reported, $200 for opinion (typical length 1000-1200 words). Q+As or book reviews in between. Topics we’re interested in:
the effects of anaerobic digestion on the climate + how it has been used by industrial agriculture to “greenwash” climate-change efforts
the ‘food not feed’ movement
Ethanol and corn subsidies
SNAP benefits and why they’re packaged into the Farm Bill

We accept pitches on all topics concerning Rural America on a rolling basis, but pitches for this package have a deadline of July 5, 2023
