Pitches Wanted (Censorship) (Worldwide) | ~28 cents per word

New Posted 19 December 2022 | Remote | Censorship

Katie Dancey-Downs, Assistant Editor at Index on Censorship, is looking for pitches: Journos! I want your pitches for the next issue of Index on Censorship. But before you all throw aside your mince pies to fill my inbox with your brilliant ideas, please read this thread on what I’m looking for. I’d like to hear from journalists across the world, writing from the ground. We take reported and comment pieces. Have a look at our website and magazine to get a sense of us - the current magazine is free to read until the end of the World Cup: https://www.indexoncensorship.org/ Pitch me a story, not a theme, and be specific. Make me care about it. Who will you speak to? What’s new? Please share your clips and tell me about yourself. Don’t be afraid to brag - I want to know why you’re a great journalist and to see how excellent your writing is. Please send pitches by 3rd January. My email is katiedd@indexoncensorship.org.

Open to international writers? Yes, of course! Absolutely anywhere in the world. CONFIDENTIAL NOTE: Reports indicate that this opportunity will pay around £240 for 1000 words. It is recommended that you discuss the rate(s) with the editor/employer prior to commencing work.
