Point B Communications, a family-owned branding & advertising agency in Chicago’s West Loop, is searching for a Copywriter to join its growing creative department on a full-time or part-time basis.

The Copywriter Role
The one person in the office that always knows the right thing to say. The right fit for our Copywriter role will be a jack-of-all-trades, skilled in crafting both consumer- and stakeholder-facing messaging in a variety of different brand voices. In this role, you will be under the direction of a Senior Copywriter and/or Creative Director, with the additional partnership of an Art Director and Account Managers.
This person will have demonstrated abilities in writing appropriate and compelling copy for use in media such as: blogs, direct mail, collateral, websites, e-blasts, advertisements, script for video, and beyond. This person should be comfortable working with both short- and long-form copy, possessing a keen attention to detail and advanced proofreading skills as well as an aptitude toward developing and maintaining unique brand tone as well as maintaining client-specific style and usage preferences.
Our ideal Copywriter will also have a hand in concepting and development for new brands and campaigns, working collaboratively with a larger creative and strategic team to help craft the brand pillars and personality from which new creative will be built. Because of this, attention to the creative world at-large and an intimate understanding of what is current in the fields of advertising and brand design are must-haves.
Job Functions:
Writes appropriate and compelling copy for a variety of advertising and brand communications in print, digital, and video
Is comfortable working independently or collaboratively, as part of a creative team with other roles such as Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Account Managers
Understands brand guides and past projects to implement appropriate brand voice and style in new projects
Displays keen attention-to-detail and is skilled at gathering, organizing, and understanding information from multiple sources
Skillfully adheres to writing best practices as they relate to word count, SEO, etc
Is responsible for multiple projects of various types for different client teams at any one time, with the assistance of a Traffic Manager and Senior Copywriter
Communicates regularly with Account Managers, Traffic Manager, and other resources to understand project goals, schedules, and budgets
Estimates hours on assigned project work. Understands how those estimates may affect provided overall budgets
Know-How, Qualifications and Next Steps
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in related discipline
2-5 years of experience in an agency setting
GSuite Proficiency
Microsoft Office Proficiency
Apple Proficiency
Working knowledge of editing copy in Adobe CC applications (welcome, but not required)
