Breaking News Editor

POLITICO is seeking a nimble editor with sharp news judgment who can oversee our Breaking News operation and can work across the newsroom to coordinate on fast-moving stories. This editor will not only be responsible for assigning and line editing stories, but will also take on the challenge of innovating our storytelling, experimenting with different story formats. The role also involves developing early-career journalists and working diplomatically with teams across our editorial operation. This editor will generally work 5:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., and will be the anchor of our news operation in the early morning hours.
