POLITICO is seeking an experienced reporter to cover the policies and politics that shape Washington’s oversight of financial markets. You’ll cover issues that matter to individual investors, giant financial institutions and everyone in between. You will help us dominate coverage of critical storylines tied to the economy and capital markets including cryptocurrency, China’s relationship with the U.S. and moves by financial regulators to scrutinize the environmental and social impacts of major companies. One day you might find yourself chronicling the wild world of meme stocks, and the next you’ll be exploring the underbelly of the latest SPAC. This role will focus closely on a pair of key agencies – the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission – as well as leading congressional committees. You'll be expected to produce scoops on regulators and lawmakers. You will also track Wall Street’s lobbying influence on financial policy.
