Producer, POLITICO Playbook

POLITICO is seeking an enterprising and energetic producer for our flagship POLITICO Playbook newsletter. This person will work closely with a highly motivated, scoop-driven team on the preeminent newsletter for political junkies. The ideal candidate will have an obsession with Washington politics, excellent organizational skills and strong writing chops. We’re looking for someone who can survey the political news landscape — and spot and synthesize new developments for a discerning, hyper-engaged audience. Just as important is the ability to juggle the critical tasks that keep the newsletter humming: fielding multiple item pitches each day — from birthdays to “spotteds” to news scoops, and helping to decide which are newsworthy or not; sifting through a voluminous inbox for hidden news gems; engaging with readers who write in with complaints and praise; and tracking the schedules of Congress and important politicians so our readers remain up to speed.
