The Opportunity:
The North Bay Nugget, a division of Postmedia Network Inc., is seeking a seasoned, highly motivated Copy Editor who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced daily newspaper environment. The duration of this position is expected to be 12 months.

The successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail, and be equally at home editing news, arts and sports copy. Editors are expected to balance accuracy and speed, meet deadlines, and oversee quality control. They will be a savvy communicator, able to give and receive instruction with grace.

Regular hours for this position are days with occasional evenings.

Who you are:

Experience slotting a daily newspaper
Able to handle digital production include web posting and newsletters
Five or more years of experience in a fast-paced daily newsroom
Talent for writing clever headlines with clarity that captures the essence of a story
Excellent grammar, comprehension and editing skills
Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail
Good interpersonal communication skills
Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems
Proficiency in CP style
Strong design sense
