The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.
SUMMARY
The Prevention Education Writer (temporary) will develop educational content to support understanding of the organization’s processes and concepts related to recognizing, responding, and preventing abuse and misconduct in sport.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop prevention education content for athletes, coaches, parents, and other key stakeholders to support the understanding of the organization’s processes and concepts related to recognizing, responding, and preventing abuse and misconduct in sport.
Develop content for resources delivered online including those hosted on the organization’s learning management system.
Write scripts for online training content to include a variety of mediums.
Write content and materials for education modules, toolkits, and other resources for youth and adult audiences.
Prepare learning objectives, course outlines and other descriptive course materials.
Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to produce educational content.
Assist in managing content deadlines and benchmarks.
Provide content revisions and scheduled content reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 years in content development for children, youth, athletes, coaches, or other related audiences.
Experience developing resources on emotional and physical abuse and misconduct.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in communications, creative writing, or other related field.
Strong proficiency in eLearning instructional design & technologies.
Proficiency in applying WCAG 2.1, ADA and other applicable standards to enhance accessibility of content across various mediums.
Ability to write content in additional languages (Spanish, French).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Understand and apply youth and adult learning theory to content development.
Strong proficiency developing curriculum, including interactive approaches to engage audiences.
Extensive knowledge of preventing abuse in sport.
Experience customizing content for diverse learning styles and needs, including age and developmental stages.
Synthesize complex topics and translate into tangible learning outcomes.
Strong proficiency in teaching methodologies and concepts.
Strong proficiency integrating evidence-based, data-informed, peer-reviewed research, and assessments to support content development.
Strong writing, editing and copy-editing skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
WORK LOCATION
Remote/Virtual. Must be available during regular Mountain time zone hours. Main office is based in Denver, CO.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The hourly rate for this position is $32.50 - $37.50. Compensation will be commensurate with background and experience.
