As the climate crisis escalates and communities of color continue to live with the impacts of environmental racism, at Prism we’re investing in our coverage of climate and environmental justice. We aim to bring focused attention to the climate crisis and environmental justice issues, covering their intersections with racial justice and workers’ rights, particularly on issues like housing, health, access to green space and clean water, and the impact on sectors of the economy primarily staffed by BIPOC. Our coverage will aim to center the voices of Native American people in particular, foregrounding their perspectives, stewardship, and leadership on matters of environmental justice. More broadly, our coverage will highlight the work of BIPOC around the country who are spearheading and innovating climate and environmental activism, and the ways in which their communities are most impacted by environmental injustice.
