Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Proposal Writer, you will play a crucial role in the development and submission of winning proposals to secure new business opportunities, as well as responses to federal solicitations and requests for proposals (RFPs). The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing and communication skills, a strong understanding of business processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Proposal Writer plays a critical role in securing government contracts and funding opportunities.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to pass a complete background check, to possibly include a credit check.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research subject matter, write, and edit material for proposals, reports, departmental process documentation and manuals, instructional material, catalogs, technical and outreach publications, marketing materials, online content, and information security documentation as required.
Oversee documentation control and document repository.
Review, proofread, edit documents for grammar, formatting, accuracy, and completeness.
Revise text and recommends changes in scope, format, and content to ensure conformance with established standards
Proposal Development:
Research, analyze, and understand client requirements and objectives.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, sales, and technical teams to gather relevant information.
Develop compelling and well-structured proposals that address client needs and highlight our strengths.
Content Creation:
Write clear, concise, and persuasive content for proposals, including executive summaries, solution descriptions, and pricing sections.
Customize content to align with the specific requirements of each proposal and target audience.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure proposals adhere to established guidelines, compliance standards, and formatting requirements.
Conduct thorough reviews to identify and rectify errors, inconsistencies, and improve overall quality.
Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams both internal and external to gather relevant information and insights.
Collaborate with graphic designers and other stakeholders to enhance the visual appeal of proposals.
Knowledge Management:
Maintain a repository of reusable content, templates, and case studies to streamline future proposal development.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and best practices in proposal writing.
Deadline Management: Manage multiple proposal deadlines concurrently, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.

Education and Certification Requirements:
Associate or bachelor's degree in English, Writing, or similar preferred or related experience
Background and Experience:
3+ years of related experience
Proven experience in federal proposal writing, with a successful track record in securing government contracts.
Strong understanding of federal procurement process and regulations
Excellent communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with business processes, technical solutions, and industry terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with proposal management tools is a plus.
Required Technical Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of Adobe Suite is preferred
Related content writing and editing work experience
Proficiency in grammar, sentence structure, writing
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible
Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages
Occasional movement of small articles up to 10lbs
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Continually operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
Occasionally required to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
