As the Manager of Public Relations, the position is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive public relations program that is in line with the SCPRT marketing direction that positions South Carolina as a preferred travel destination among targeted domestic and international audiences. Employee must closely and appropriately align the development of this support program with the goals and objectives of the agency.
Develop, manage and implement a pro-active public relations program with the goal of garnering positive media exposure for South Carolina as a preferred travel destination.
Direct the work of the third-party public relations vendor to support the SCPRT public relations program goals and objectives.
Tracking, measurement and reporting system for earned media/public relations program.
Practice and promote teamwork within the Sales & Marketing Office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders.
Develop relationships with internal, in-state, regional, national and international stakeholders/partners and media. Collaborate with stakeholders/partners to achieve mutual objectives.
Product knowledge. Continually expand knowledge of South Carolina's tourism product, state history, heritage and culture.
Manage the SC Chef Ambassador Program.
