Public Relations Specialist

Drake Software and TaxAct provide tax preparation software and expert support to tax filers across the country. The Public Relations Specialist will work with the Communications team to manage external communications and community relationships for the company. This position is fully remote. Occasional (up to once per quarter) travel within the company’s footprint including Dallas, Texas; Franklin, North Carolina; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Greenville, South Carolina.

Responsibilities

Manage media requests in a timely and professional manner
Build relationships with new media contacts and maintain relationships with existing contacts
Maintain relationships with community stakeholders within the business footprint
Draft press releases, pitches, case studies, white papers, and media summaries
Ensure all communication is cohesive with the brand image
Track and analyze media coverage
Measure community program impacts

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field
3-4 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Strong working knowledge of a variety of public relations programs
Proficient in Microsoft Office
