Ambitious, passionate and creative? We're looking for a brilliant new editor for one of our most exciting digital brands, Real Homes. This is the ideal job for a young editor or experienced deputy looking to make a mark on a website that’s just full of potential. Real Homes aims at Millenials and Gen Z audiences living in small spaces, from rentals, apartments and first home through dorms and living with parents. It’s all about championing budget-conscious, clever style and helping its audience make any space home. You’ll join a thriving team that’s social forward and ecommerce savvy.

What you'll be doing…

As Editor, you'll be tasked with building audience and driving ecommerce revenue across all Real Homes channels. You're ultimately responsible for delivering high-quality content that's in line with the brand strategy and delights its target market, and delivering it on time and in budget. You'll run the content calendar and output planner, and work closely with internal stakeholders such as commercial, events and marketing teams.

You'll be responsible for the production of market-leading content and all content plans - including maintaining and updating forward features lists/editorial calendars. You'll be managing your team to ensure you receive content of sufficient quantity and quality for your brand’s requirements, managing your freelance budget and team resources to meet the business objective, ensuring all content on your platforms is compliant legally and foster a culture of ideas generation and pitching – identifying trends and timely news/feature/shoot ideas.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

Relevant editorial experience with proven background in digital media.
Exceptional writing and editing skills - from the ability to write snappy headlines to tight grammar control, through to the ability to source the right image to draw people in.
Understanding of principles of building audiences on websites and knowledge of different acquisition channels.
Experience of and skills in driving affiliate revenues.
In-depth knowledge of all the key content distribution channels.
First-rate knowledge of editorial SEO and analytics packages.
A strong understanding of and keen interest in homes and interiors, and an ability to write for American audiences.
Excellent industry contacts.
Experience of managing budgets.
Experience of people management. Ability to work as part of a broader senior management team and support the goals of others.
