As the Public Relations and Content Manager, you'll take the lead in shaping our PR and content initiatives, including social media, while overseeing our team's creative output. Your role will encompass building strong media relationships, devising communication strategies, and ensuring top-notch content quality aligned with client brand voices.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PR and Communications professional who is poised to foster media connections,craft communications strategies, and establish impactful brand voices for both Relic and our clients. Exceptional writing and editing skills, coupled with social media expertise, are essential. Prior involvement in the tourism sector is strongly considered.

Responsibilities

As the PR/Content Manager, you will spearhead and supervise the following:

Leadership and Management

Manage the public relations, content and social media team members, developing and maintaining a high-performing team culture that fosters collaboration, innovation, and accountability
Regularly guide and mentor team members, helping them set goals, providing guidance and support, as well as conducting quarterly performance evaluations
Delegate tasks and set deadlines within the PR/Content team to ensure deadlines are met
Tracking billable hours accurately and maintaining profitable project scopes
Monitoring and optimizing team bandwidth, collaborating with supervisors to address challenges
Establishing strong cross-departmental partnerships for holistic campaigns and messaging

General

Learn and protect clients’ brand voice(s) in all content and messaging
Attend immersion familiarization trips for clients as necessary
Establish inter-departmental relationships at Relic to produce effective holistic campaigns, initiatives and messaging
Develop budgets for each client for public relations, content and/or social media according to their needs and funding
Collaborating with the Digital Team to create insightful quarterly and annual reports, offering data-driven recommendations for refining future PR, content, and social media strategies
Expanding revenue through client relationship growth and identifying new opportunities
Oversee the development of each client’s editorial calendar, establishing deliverables clients can expect in a timely manner each month, integrating themes with clients’ priority messaging and other campaigns across departments

Public Relations

Crafting and updating media kits for PR clients and Relic on an annual basis
Cultivate and maintain media relations in local, regional and national target markets
Crafting and disseminating press releases to appropriate media channels
Representing clients in media interactions on occasion
Pitch, manage and coordinate events, initiatives and promotions for each client
Arrange journalist visits and press trips on the behalf of clients and coordinate with media and client, occasionally guiding the trip

Content

Edit and approve all content (blogs, newsletters, emails, etc.) before submission to the Account Managers, following each client’s style guides and voice rules
Collaborating with other department leaders to create owned media assets
Review content from other teams for both clarity and grammar
Ensure client style guides are up-to-date

Social Media

Create/review and approve client social media content calendars
Overseeing post deployment through appropriate tools
Providing clients with best practices and insights from campaigns
Coordinate with the Digital Team for paid social campaigns

Other

Help with New Business Team with the RFP process, occasionally attending in-person pitches
Other duties as requested/assigned

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years or more of public relations industry experience
Strong writing and editing skills
A bachelor’s degree or higher in public relations, communications, journalism or similar field.
