Assistant Editor, Commentary, Report on Business (Editorial)

The Globe and Mail, Canada’s leading source of business news and analysis, is hiring an experienced journalist to develop business commentary for our newspaper and digital platforms. This is a rare opportunity to join the award-winning Report on Business team in an editing capacity. The ideal candidate will have established a reputation for producing intelligent, thought-provoking journalism in newsrooms or for magazines, with a strong understanding of Canada’s business landscape, as well as the trends shaping the global economy. Strong people skills will allow you to spot and develop synergies with The Globe’s other editorial teams, and to liaise with staff reporters from across the newsroom. Tracking multiple stories at once, you will work to both daily and weekly deadlines, while building a network of contributors from across Canada and around the world that represent a broad range of perspectives, from academics to business leaders to politicians.
