Reporter

New Posted 16 November 2022 | Cheyenne, Wyoming | Wyoming Tribune Eagle

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle has two immediate openings for passionate journalists looking to improve their skills as part of our award-winning news team. Whether you’re a fresh college grad or a seasoned veteran reporter, our main objective is to make you a better journalist while you’re with us so you’re prepared for the next stage of your career. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, and preferably some experience covering, law enforcement and court news, as well as a willingness to cover other types of stories and features. This person often serves as our second reporter during state legislative sessions. We’re looking to hire someone equally comfortable covering breaking news or sitting in the courtroom, covering an arraignment, trial or sentencing. (This person will replace a two-year journalist who is moving on to a new opportunity.) For this position, we’re looking for someone with an interest in covering local government and the capital city’s growing business community. The ideal candidate will have a drive to inform readers and hold government officials accountable, as well as an interest in covering other types of stories and features. (This is a position that went unfilled during the pandemic.) With both positions, we are looking for competitive journalists with a drive to be first to tell stories online, along with telling long-term, larger-scale stories that include visual and digital components, as well as people-focused stories.
