The Times, a privately owned newspaper in Gainesville, Ga., is seeking a watchdog Government Reporter to cover our local councils and county commission. We have the largest newsroom staff in Northeast Georgia, a testament to our continued dedication to providing quality, unbiased local news. We’re looking for someone who can join us in that mission.
The ideal candidates will:
Have experience producing quality journalism, including strong reporting and writing skills
Be naturally curious and interested in our community and what its residents want and need from their newspaper
Work well within limitations, be persistent and able to find creative solutions
Enjoy collaborative work and a persistent push to be better
Be flexible, able to help out with other beats as needed, including breaking news
