The Kerrville Daily Times is looking for a reporter experienced in small-town, community journalism. Reporters contribute to our newspaper’s print product, social media and overall web presence and participate in conversations to increase our reach. All members of our news team work occasional weekends and holidays as needed. Qualifications include: Accuracy in reporting. Fluency in AP Style. Strong interpersonal skills. Understanding of open records law and ability to file, manage and oversee requests pertinent to beat work. Strong computer skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to collaborate on new projects and work in a fast-paced environment. Contribute to conversations regarding projects, daily budget and pitching stories. Ability to work independently or with other news staff. Bilingual a plus.
