Essex Media Group produces multiple publications, including a daily newspaper, 24/7 news website, three weekly newspapers, a twice-monthly Spanish-language newspaper, a monthly real estate publication, three quarterly lifestyle magazines, and a quarterly golf magazine.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a news reporter to cover the North Shore. The reporter will be responsible for producing 10 stories a week for the company’s daily, weekly newspapers and magazines. Ability to work independently, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interest in current local events, and the ability to thrive under deadlines are required. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are an equal opportunity employer. Starting salary is $33,000 per year.

Qualifications:

EMG’s ideal candidate is someone with a bachelor’s degree and strong knowledge of AP Style, who is proficient in writing, detail-oriented, and deadline-focused with a journalistic background. Familiarity with WordPress is a plus, but not required.
