AltAssets, the veteran private equity news service, is looking to expand its reporting team with an ambitious journalist on a flexible, part-time basis.
The opportunity would suit a reporter with at least one year’s experience in journalism, ideally within finance, investments or technology writing, who is keen to immerse themselves in private equity reporting and work to become a leading authority on the sector.
This role is laser-focused on sourcing exclusive stories and conducting interviews for features and analysis, with candidates expected to immediately hit the phones to build a strong book of industry contacts. Successful candidates should also be ready to pitch in on sourcing and writing shorter daily news pieces for the AltAssets website.
Specific expertise in the private equity and alternative assets space is welcomed, though not essential, but successful applicants should display an eagerness to get to grips with the sector and quickly build a network with top industry players.
This is a 20-hours-per-week remote working role. Core hours are very flexible and negotiable, but ideally consistent each day from Monday to Friday. The role could suit someone willing to work 10am to 2.30pm before heading out on the school run, for example, or an early riser who would prefer to start at 8 and be done by lunchtime. Successful candidates must also be prepared to conduct interviews outside of these core hours when necessary, eg. to speak to industry executives in far-flung time zones.
A competitive salary is boosted by 25 days holiday each year pro rata.
AltAssets has been serving the private equity and venture capital industries for more than 20 years, becoming a leading provider of breaking news, in-depth features and analysis, and exclusive, invitation-only events to help LPs and GPs connect.
Hundreds of thousands of industry members use AltAssets each year to keep up to speed on the latest developments, market shifts and cutting-edge data, while our in-person and virtual events lead the way in helping forge closer links between firms and institutional investors.
