Rappahannock Media/InsideNoVa is seeking a tenacious reporter to cover Fauquier County, Virginia, located roughly one hour west of Washington, D.C. This full-time position will focus on the county’s Board of Supervisors, School Board and Warrenton Town Council, as well as other breaking and enterprising stories, for FauquierNow.com. Your work will often appear on InsideNoVa.com and RappNews.com, as well. We’re looking for candidates with two to three years of newsroom experience, but recent graduates with a strong resume and winning clips will be considered. Photography and digital media skills are required.
This is a local, on-the-ground reporting position. Sourcing and getting to know the community are imperative. The ideal candidate would live in and/or be familiar with Fauquier County, but an eager and talented reporter willing to live or relocate nearby will certainly be considered. Although there are events and meetings to cover most weekdays, there are plenty of remote aspects of the job. Most weeks you’ll be able to work from home a day or two. We’re a flexible, team-oriented company that understands the modern workplace.
